Making a Cherry Blossom Tree Ring Dish Using Negative Space
Using negative space we will be creating a fused glass cherry blossom tree. This project is quick and fun and very versatile. I used murrine to show off the pretty blossoms.
Making a Basket Weave Dish
This video walks you though creating a basket weave using glass! This project is quick and fun and can have many variations. The glass colors are different shades of plum with a mix of opaque and transparent glass. Other than the kiln time, this project is rather quick to make and would be great to use up some scrap pieces of glass.
Making the Fields of Flowers Dish
In this video I use glass fusing techniques combined with some enamel painting to create a unique dish. I give the illusion of depth by painting the black outline on top of the clear glass and the colors on the back. The painting is backed with a white, iridized, piece of glass and framed in black and white.
Making the Sunflower Field Ring Dish
Travelling through Spain in 2001, I was mesmerized by the rolling fields of sunflowers. That image has styed with me for a log time and I now I have transferred it onto a piece of glass.
In this video I make a sunflower ring dish which features some beautiful sunflower and leaf design murrine. The project is not very difficult but it is time consuming since it requires 4 different firings. All firing schedules are posted in the video. I've added chapters in order to make it easier to jump from step to step.
Redwood - Working with Reactive Glass
It all begins with an idea.
Welcome to my first YouTube video!
Glass is very versatile and working with fused glass opens up so many avenues. Pieces can be very complex, requiring a lot of cutting and kiln time while others can be simple with minimal manipulation. This project is on the simpler side and I use the chemical composition of the glass to create a unique piece. I explain how glass can react chemically to one another to create some really beautiful colors. I use Bullseye COE90 glass and all firing schedules are posted within the video.
